This is a letter Elizabeth Stone wrote to Vincent in 1976, the only lengthy letter she ever sent him. Vincent saved it, and 20 years later, when his diaries arrived at Elizabeth's doorstep, she found this letter neatly folded in its original envelope and inserted in one of the diaries.
